"It was a dump, but it was our dump."
THE COG FACTORY was an all ages DIY music venue in Omaha, NeBraska. The facility opened in 1994 and closed permanently in 2002. Over the years it hosted hundreds, if not thousands of shows and played a crucial role in Omaha's musical history. The only reason 'The Cog' survived as long as it did was due to the tireless efforts of the volunteers who kept it up and running. (It was a truly filthy, disgusting, thankless joB most of the time.) This weBsite is dedicated to those selfless people who kept it open and made it possible for thousands of kids to enjoy a musical experience like no other.
I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to everyone that has provided photos, videos and Cog memoraBilia for this project. Special thanks must also go to everyone who shared their time and let me interview them for the documentary film. I'm so sorry it has taken so long!!!
If you have any Cog Factory photos, flyers or videos that you would like to share, please contact me at [email protected] and I will add them to the site.
